Last Weekend’s Pagerank Update
I’m neither surprised nor bothered that this site didn’t update in PageRank this weekend. I rarely add anything to this site anymore and I am so lazy at updating!
However my new site, which will be coming Jan/Feb 2009 SEO NOTTINGHAM is a PageRank 1 - with nothing added to it, but the holding page. Pretty neat eh? Not as neat as one of our work websites - it’s just a very similar holding page, has had a bit of link building done to it, and is linked from one or two of our PR4/5 sites… it’s a PR4 now! A PR4 with no content, nothing at all apart from the site’s name, in text. Amazing.
One of my other work sites, my little baby, the one I spent a lot of time work on and getting a lot of people to visit is now a PR4 too. A lot of the inner pages are PR3 / PR4 too which I am very happy about. It is very new, maybe 3 or 4 months old and was a PR0. Quite a good jump I think. As I add more and more content to it (it’s a business studies resource for students, and we pay academics to write unique content/revision guides) I can really see it growing to a PR5. One of our other work sites is a PR6, which is pretty cool. I’d love to see it reach PR6! I know that PageRank isn’t the be all and end all, but I like to see it jump up occasionally, it’s like a reward for your efforts - a measurable result that everything you are doing IS working!
None of my other sites dropped or gained in PR - what about you? Did your site improve or change??

Only one of my sites had a PR update last week. I agree with you - it is a nice measurable reward, I just wish the update system would be consistent.
I’m so fucked off that I lost my PR6 spot. It was awesome bragging rights. My own damned fault for not updating my site with any proper content though I guess. *stabs Google*
Yeppiee yep,
my poor blog
this PR update affected me as well
All that PR stuff confuses me, but oh well.
I plan on using your brushes for commercial use in my shop, just thought I’d let you know. <3
My pages didnt lose anything. on the other hand, i didnt gain anything either..
My site a couple of months ago had a page ranking of 2 then it went to 0 straight away!! I think it was because i went from php to search engine friendly files and I will have to build my page ranking up.
This PR stuff is very up and down and sometimes my PR goes up for no reason? I dont think I have got to grips with it yet
Unfortunatelythis time around a lot of my sites have actuaky fallen to page rank 2 form page rank 3. My main company website has remained the same however. In reflection I have kind of neglected the ones since the last PR update so I am not surprised. Although I would have thought that it would have remianed the same and not fallen.
Hi,
My site and my blog are both PR3 for months.
I’m hopping that with the next update, my site will maintain (sp?) and my blog will go PR4.
Wish you all a prosperous 2009,
José
I have been writing original content for over two months or so. however all that I see in the pagerank is a blank. How often does the PR update take place? And besides original content what else do I need to keep at google’s mercy? help please.
why does there seem to be such a fluctuation in the pr…i mean, i have a new website which had no rank and about a week later, i was at pr0 and i’m not sure what i did…strange..
I do not know if Google updates the pagerank, but I already has over 1 years with a PR4, every time Google does not put it more difficult to attract visitors to our site, Google wants all the web traffic for them, is not just be left to compete and I am trying to get by with Google Adsense.Pero really earn a pittance if you have it 5 to attract more visitors.
Greetings.
Reaching a PR6 is awesome, I have been always around PR 1-2 but I am happy that I have some kind of PR without nothing. Some PR updates are good but some doesn’t, it really depends on what the bots of big G finds out…
