Another Job Interview!

I have always believed in some kind of fate. I wrote recently about applying for an assistant managers job, and that I didn’t get through the interview stage. I wasn’t too upset about not getting the job - I was more upset because I felt I couldn’t get my points across well during a group exercise.

Well, I also wrote about putting together a C.V. in .pdf format didn’t I? And that I’d been applying for some more jobs recently?

Well today, I got invited to an interview, it’s a bit of a trek for me, until I learn to drive!

I’ll have to get a bus from Findern to Derby, a train from Derby to Nottingham, then another bus from Nottingham to Ravenshead. Then it’s a five minute walk from there. So I’ll have to leave for work about two hours earlier than I start, but the beauty of it is: It’s flexitime! I just have to put in 45 hours a week anywhere between 8am and 8pm. Perfect!

The job involves working with Search Engine Optimisation and you receive full training on the job. It is a secret passion of mine, and I am so glad that I’ll potentially be working with it, and learning more about it.

I’m very optimistic about the interview, the only skill they are asking for is HTML (I can do that! And XHTML!) And then CSS, PHP and SEO knowledge would help but it is by no means necessary. To be very honest, I’d have presumed CSS would be necessary? I shall have to wait and see. Perhaps it’s editing premade sites and updating them, not designing them?

Back to the fate thing. I didn’t get the job as an assistant bar manager, well what has that got to do with fate? I did want the job, but I’d prefer to go into the web design / internet field. It’s what I am passionate about, and it’s what I enjoy. So I knew when I got rejected that something better would come along!

Well, I am going to sit and read a few of my .net magazines now, for *cough* research. Haha… that and I’ve used the touch pad on my laptop for so long today / last night, that it seems to have burnt my finger! I shall have to go and find my plug-in mousey. (It lights up, wow!)
