About Carly
My name is Carly, I am 23 and a graduate from the University of York.
Find me on:

I work full time just outside of Nottingham, in a job known as ‘SEO.’ It stands for search engine optimisation. This basically involves learning and manipulating the many factors involved in making a website rank well on Google.
I do everything from building entire websites aimed at a certain keyword, to setting up accounts on social media sites, and writing blogs about our service. That is not all I do though, oh no. I also write web copy, source content for our new services, design, code and generally create.
I have learnt a lot of new skills over the last few months, and I feel I have refined my ability to write good web copy. I have read a lot about selling on the web, and like to put these techniques in to some kind of practise!
I have just set up my own freelance venture, SEO NOTTINGHAM. A service not yet live, but will be up once complete.
I am single, and I can’t see that changing soon to be honest. Not because I am unlovable (I make a great girlfriend) just because I’m crap at meeting new people, and I don’t really mind being single, lol.
My Dad passed away in April from a condition called Mesothelioma. I’ve learnt that not many people know, nor understand what this terrible disease is. Basically, it comes from being in contact with Asbestos. You breathe in the fibres, and they hook into the cells, usually in the lungs. A cancer develops in sheets around the organs, and it is near impossible to remove. Usually, when people have this disease diagnosed, they typically have 6 - 18months to live. I would say that my Dad passing away has affected me a lot more than people actually realise, and whilst I don’t like to talk about it really, I do think about it often.
I have two dogs, a very lovely Labrador called Dylan, and a Miniature Schnauzer called Archie. He’s not so lovely. He’s more…mad.

Aside from web design and SEO, I really enjoy photography. I am saving up for a telephoto lens… I love taking photographs!
